01

Where is the demo farm located?

Our demo farm is located at the Paikon Kore Grazing Reserve in Gwagwalada, FCT. Our milk collection and cooling centre is situated next door.

03

What breeds of animals are in the farm

Our farm is home to Jersey cows, known for their high milk production and adaptability.

05

What do you feed your cows with?

We feed our cattle a balanced diet of molasses, hay, concentrated feeds, silage, and fresh pasture grown on-site with irrigation—eliminating the need for nomadic farming.

07

Where do you get the animals from?

We source our Jersey cows from countries with climates and conditions similar to Nigeria, where the Jersey breed thrives.

09

Do your cows graze?

Yes, our cows graze freely but don’t roam. They have ample food, water, and space within the farm to thrive.

11

How do you control the waste in the farm?

We use a septic tank system to collect slurry, which is converted into manure for our crops and biogas for energy, creating a sustainable cycle.

02

Who owns & manages this initiative?

This is the brainchild of Nestlé Nigeria, managed by CBi Innovations Ltd., and we proudly serve as the largest fresh milk collector in Northern Nigeria.

04

What vol. of milk do you get daily per animal

The Jersey cow breed has a daily potential of between 15 - 20 litres of milk per day.

06

What is the capacity of the farm?

Our farm is specifically designed to accommodate 200 cows, ensuring optimal space and comfort for each animal.

08

Can the animals withstand the heat in FCT?

While the heat can be challenging, we’ve installed fans throughout the farm to keep the cows cool. When released, they instinctively move to the coolest parts of the farm to relax.

10

Do you breed using Bull or Artificial Insemination?

We utilise artificial insemination with sexed semen to increase the likelihood of producing female calves, optimising milk production potential.
